I’m extremely thankful to these people who created a mod that actually allows you to run Severance on modern PCs with Windows 10. Now, having something about roughly 400 hours of Dark Souls games in Steam (including Remastered, but excluding original DS2, without the “SoTFS” subtitle – what I actually plan to fix in close future) and who-knows-how-much of Bloodborne experience as an asset, I can’t contain how joyous I feel playing Severance all over again. Yet, despite how much I loved it, I never managed to finish it.

However, Blade of Darkness, in my humble opinion, rises and shines in a very unique way and it always took a special place in my heart, without a doubt. Needless to say, all of these games I mentioned above I still have with me. Drakan I’ve finished, I think, at least 5 times, and I still play it even now. I has always been a fan of “slashy and gory” games, such as Drakan: Order Of The Flame, or Deathtrap Dungeon, or Die By The Sword, that I didn’t have a chance to enjoy fully at the time for some technical, as I recall, reasons. I used to play it when I was a kid, in the age of 12 or 13 – or maybe even younger not long after the game has been released. A wonderful, meticulously made game from Spanish developers that still rocks well enough in our times, yet, unfortunately, also quite well forgotten by many gamers.

This list will take a look at ten such mods that completely destroy the dark atmosphere of Lothric with the humor they inject into the game.… is one of my all-time favourite games called Severance: Blade of Darkness. However, as is the case with most games released on the PC, a bunch of modders decided that nothing is ever enough and released a string of custom content that fans could use to augment their game if need be.

The release of the 2011 classic sparked a new wave of gaming titles that stopped babying video gamers and actually provided with a high-yet-fair level of difficulty that most titles shied away from in favor of accessibility. When one talks about some of the most challenging yet fun gaming experiences of all time, then it goes without saying that the Dark Souls franchise will definitely be a part of this mix.
